Milkshake matters

When we introduced milk shortly after our little one’s first birthday, it became a daily staple.

We usually warm some up right before bed, but in the afternoon when he’s looking for a little entertainment with his snack, we turn it into a blended shake.

Milk provides calcium and vitamin D to help build strong bones. This calcium need is met if kids get the recommended two servings of dairy every day - which for a toddler is actually only about 1/2 cup of milk, total. To make it different from the beloved milk bottle, a milkshake (milk + ice + strawberries in a blender) with a cute cup and a straw is a winner.

Fun fact about milk: In Russia and Finland, frogs were put in milk to keep it from going sour.
