So which shape is the one to pick?

The adults in our house love a good spaghetti, but our kid has a much easier time with thicker pasta.

Regardless of whether the toddler in your life is practicing with a fork or diving in with two hands, pasta is helpful as a vehicle for sauce and other toppings like chopped and sautéed bell pepper and zucchini, or shredded chicken and warm beans for protein. With that job to do, thicker noodles tend to fare better. Our number one favorite pasta shape is rotini, which is easy to hold or fork and which can hide a lot of sauce in its tight coils.

TIP: If you want to make your pasta extra nutrition-dense, consider chickpea pasta.
